1. Defining Policy Restrictions

In a Corporate Self-Booking Tool, employee tiers determine booking eligibility. For example, junior employees can book economy class flights on routes under 6 hours, while executive leadership has business class access. Hotels can be capped at maximum night rates per metropolitan tier.

  "tier": "manager",
  "flight_rules": {
    "max_cabin_class": "premium_economy",
    "advance_booking_days": 7,
    "require_approval_if_exceeds": 500
  },
  "hotel_rules": {
    "max_star_rating": 4,
    "max_nightly_rate_usd": 220
  }
}

2. Out-of-Policy Escalation & Webhook Triggers

If an employee selects an out-of-policy itinerary, the checkout holds the PNR without ticketing and fires an approval request to their designated L1 manager. Upon approval via email or SMS link, ticketing is instantly dispatched.
